American Portfolios and Unspoken Now Told are working together to bring awareness to the current devastating epidemic of opioid addiction. More than 115 people in the United States die every single day from overdosing on opioids including prescription pain relievers, heroin and fentanyl. About 80% of people who use heroin, first misused prescribed opioids (drugabuse.org). These people are our brothers and sistes, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends. NO ONE is immune. Opioids do not care who you are, what your socioeconomic status is, your size, color or creed. Opioids do not care how wonderful your parents are, how good your grades are or how many likes you get on social media. This is a national crisis. We are here to bring awareness, shed light on recovery, and acknowledge that with help, there comes success.
